Would just shampooing with my normal dog shampoo work? There aren't any other animals in the house besides my dog.

The vet just gave him a cortisone shot because he's itching himself bad. I think the fleas might be in the yard. Is there anything else I could try that is not your typical way of killing them in the yard or house??

DOG WITH FLEAS IN TRANSYLVANIA
My dog has lots of red dots on her stomach, and I have been noticing few black dots on her, but have seen no fleas. She is a jack russell and has sensitive skin, so could it be from allergies? Could the dots be dirt? I have put cortizone on her stomach will that help?
I just gave her a bath with Hartz Rid of flea and tick shampoo, should that help?
