Questions

Is there a problem with fleas or ticks in the central California region; places like Monterey, Carmel, Salinas, etc? Would a dog need some kind of preventative, like Advantage or Frontline? Not all parts of the USA have noticeable problems, so please don't assume that "fleas live everywhere". Thank you.

Does My Dog Have Fleas or Does He Want Attention?

My dogs have fleas and I am looking for the best treatment for right now and future. I plan on treating the dogs with either a top spot, drops behind the neck, or a dip. I also will be treating the house and yards on the same day. I am just looking for peoples opinion on different types of dips and top spot treatments. Thanks

What Is the Best Top Spot and or Dip Flea Treatment for Dogs? Advantage, Front Line, Etc.?

Should i treat my although i am only assuming he has them. He is a small dog that has been itching alot but i have not seen a flea on him. Of course itching could because of dryness, allergies, or something else. I am thinking treat him for fleas as a start. Would it be harmful to treat for fleas if a dog does not have them?

Should I Treat My Dog Fleas Although I Am Only Assumimg He Has Them?

My dog has lots of red dots on her stomach, and I have been noticing few black dots on her, but have seen no fleas. She is a jack russell and has sensitive skin, so could it be from allergies? Could the dots be dirt? I have put cortizone on her stomach will that help?
I just gave her a bath with Hartz Rid of shampoo, should that help?

Is the Advantage Brand Flea Medication for Dogs More Effective Than the Frontline Brand?

I have three dogs, a chocolate lab, a rhodesian ridgeback, and an english pointer. All of them intch constantly and nibble at their fur a couple times a day. They are all on the , which is supposed to be the best medication. I haven't seen one flea, and I check their fur right where they itch everytime they itch. I also have not seen any "flea dirt". So my question is do my dogs have fleas? Or are they just itchy creatures?

How Do U Get Rid of Fleas on U and Ur Dog?

I was unsuccessful in getting rid of the fleas my cat and dog had on my own. I went to the vet and bought one of their treatments. They gave me advantage for both of them. It's the kind you squeeze on their skin right behind their heads. I did this at about 1pm today. I'm still noticing a little scratching from both of them. How long should this treatment take to kill the fleas? And if this doesn't work what should my next step be?
PS I did treat my house so they shouldn't be getting reinfected from the furniture or anything.
