my mother was using--for a month--a far too diluted dog shampoo on our blue queensland heeler, so the anti-flea stuff in the shampoo that was supposed to work, didn't. she gave our dog his usual monthly advantage flea treatment, and it hasn't done a thing of course with a month's worth of basically untreated itchies running amuck. the poor thing actually WOKE ME UP last night many times because he could not stop scratching. (my mom just didn't understand how dog shampoo works.)
my question is this: i gave him a double dog bath in two different kinds of shampoo three days after the treatment. he has stopped his scratching by about 75%. do i give him another advantage treatment? if so, will he fall over dead? if not, will he be scratching for another month? help! i <3 my dog, and believe me, mom has been given some serious explaining.

I have a cocker spaniel who broke out after we used Frontline on him as a puppy. His vet has recommended we try Advantage. He currently has fleas.
How long will the Advantage take to kill the fleas that are already on him? Will it kill them or does he need to be treated first? Is Advantage any better on sensitive skin than frontline is?
